Dallas

I am going down to Deep Ellum/Dallas this month. I am spending a night down there. It will be me and one friend. I know that there is a lot to that town and I have gone there to party before but any suggestions of places to be sure to go.

I am also considering getting a tat while out of state. Any informed advice about where to go in Dallas for a tat. I have tried to look online but I am not having the best luck. Any ideas?

Man, I wish we had a party spot in Oklahoma like Deep Ellum has been. It seems hard to get something like that started here but it shouldn't be impossible.

Any one who wants to can come have a beer or ten with me this Sunday at The Deli and hear Hosty Solo play is welcome. I would love to get a good chat going before and after. I want to meet a ton of new people this weekend. Let me know if you can be there.

Actually, Bricktown is really becoming an awesome place to hang out. I don't know if you're 21 which might make a difference, but I've started to enjoy hanging out at Makers, getting plastered and then going to a movie to sober up! :)

A man with many tattoos and many tattoo artist friends told me that anywhere in Deep Ellum is good. Also, anywhere in Denton (college town north of Dallas).

Deep Ellum was my scene before moving to OKC. I have a tattoo, and most of my friends have many - we swear by Skin Art Gallery in Addison which is a sister shop to Smooth Groove in Deep Ellum. I've gotten all of my piercings at Smooth Groove and they were great. I've heard only negative things from locals there about Tigger's so if you haven't already gone, you might ask some people in the area. Mainly issues with quality but also health stuff afterwards...

Have coffee at Insomnia if it's still there... it's been January since I've been there and I've heard rumors that it's closed or closing. If you like sushi, Deep Sushi is the best you can find in Dallas and a good friend is the doorman at Club One if you happen to go there... heavily pierced guy with a huge grin... he's awesome :)
